No fake success when a file cannot shrink.
Best results
Scans and photo-heavy PDFs
Large embedded JPEG images create the strongest opportunity. Balanced reduces dimensions and quality moderately; Strong uses a smaller image ceiling and lower JPEG quality.
Preservation
Text and vector content stay intact
The engine replaces only eligible JPEG image objects. Page dictionaries, text streams, vector drawing commands, and other image formats are not rasterized or rewritten as pictures.
Limitations
Some PDFs are already efficient
Text-only, vector-heavy, PNG-based, encrypted, or previously optimized PDFs may save little or nothing. FileIvy returns the original when a rebuilt file is not meaningfully smaller.
Privacy
Compression happens in browser memory
The PDF is parsed, image candidates are decoded, and the result is verified locally. No backend, Ghostscript service, password flow, or third-party file API is involved.
