Combined workflow
Resize first, then compress to your limit
Target size mode can fit the complete image inside proportional pixel dimensions before compression. The aspect ratio stays locked, no crop is applied, and the tool does not enlarge the source image.
Honest target results
Minimum, maximum, or a size range
Browser encoders cannot promise an exact byte count, so FileIvy supports an optional minimum and maximum, or either bound on its own. It shows PASS or FAIL with the final size and required bounds, and explains when normal encoding cannot reach them without padding.

Compress JPG, PNG and still WebP
JPG and WebP support adjustable lossy compression. PNG stays lossless with transparency preserved unless you explicitly allow WebP conversion. Files can be up to 25 MB.

Review size, savings and dimensions
Before downloading, FileIvy shows original and output size, percentage saved, output format, and the original-to-output dimensions. If a safe re-encode is not smaller, it keeps the original instead of giving you a larger file.
Privacy
Your image never leaves your device
Resize and compression both run in browser memory. File bytes, names, previews, dimensions, metadata, and settings are not sent to a FileIvy server. Local data is released when you replace the image, reset the tool, or close the tab.

Questions about compressing images
Does FileIvy upload my images?
No. FileIvy reads, resizes, and compresses your image in browser memory. It does not send the file bytes, filename, preview, dimensions, metadata, or settings to a FileIvy server.
What image formats can I compress?
You can compress JPG and JPEG, PNG, and still WebP images up to 25 MB, subject to browser memory and image-dimension safety limits. Animated images, GIF, HEIC, AVIF, SVG, and BMP are not supported by this compressor.
Does image compression reduce quality?
JPEG and WebP compression can reduce visual quality because they use lossy encoding. Smart mode balances quality and file size, while Quality mode gives you direct control. PNG stays lossless unless you allow WebP conversion.
Can I resize and compress an image to a specific KB or MB limit?
Yes. In Target size mode, enter an optional minimum and maximum size and optionally set proportional output dimensions. FileIvy resizes first, then searches for the best safe result within the requested bounds. It never labels an out-of-range result as successful or pads a file to an exact byte count.
